Urban Sketch Gathering - November

The Seattle Urban sketchers got together at Pike Place Market on a very cold November Sunday Morning. Decided to sketch the entertainment, the guy with the guitar was very good, the guy with the accordion, I couldn't hear (drew him from across the street) and not quite sure what kind of costume the dog was wearing - statue of Liberty maybe..... Pen and ink, watercolor.

Market Theatre - Post Alley

Sketching in Seattle started with Dim Sum in the International District and making my way through downtown looking for something interesting to draw. I know Pike Place is a tourist destination and is often overdone but there are the out of the way nooks and crannies of the place that still have character, historical or otherwise. The small cobblestone road that descends behind the information booth underneath the market and leads to seldom known gems like IL Bistro, The Market Theater and the Alibi Room.

Catanzaros Produce

Drawing at Pike Place Market. It was so busy it was tough to find a spot to sketch that wasn't in someone's way.
